Namely is an all-in-one HR platform designed for small to mid-sized companies. While at Namely, I was a player-coach design lead. My work spanned payroll, workforce management and taxation.
A huge pain point for our users was not being able to access paystubs from their mobile device. Paystubs are used as proof of employment, so they are needed for rental agreements, mortgages, car purchases, etc.
This feature allows an admin to configure workflows that point to roles, not individual people. So when someone is out or on leave, important updates don’t get missed.
As our customer base expanded, so did the need for more sophisticated Payroll functionality. This feature introduced the ability for companies to tax individuals in more than one location. This was essential for any larger company to stay compliant with tax law. This feature addition allowed us to close deals with companies that we could not previously support, creating a notable uptick in sales.
